The Holiday Dress You Can Actually Wear Again

Have you ever regretted buying that expensive cocktail dress you only wore once to last year’s Christmas party? This holiday season, Hart Republic and I are bringing you the adorable navy Taki Dress that you can dress up for the parties, and also wear over and over again! For the working woman on-the-go, it’s the perfect dress for the professional setting that you can transition right into a holiday party look (with a few accessories of course!).

If you know me, you will know that I am BIG on accessorizing! Things like a bag, a pair of shoes, detailed jewelry, and even hair and makeup can dramatically enhance your look from day-to-night. Here are some of my tips on accessorizing this fitted classic dress:

The Makeup

If you’re pressed for time, try doing your makeup with a basic light smokey eye, but leave the darker shades to layer on for later. Add on some neutral lip gloss and mascara, and bring the rest of your makeup with you (including a fun shade of lip color for the after party!)

The Hair

For your hair, try soft waves that you could easily pull up into a soft and low chignon later, or grab a straightener for that sleek party pony-tail. All of these little changes will add a new dimension to your look and your co-workers won’t even notice that was your work dress at all!

The Accessories

Since the dress is a more simple silhouette, opt for a glitzy or fun clutch that goes with your jewelry! Throw on a pretty and chunky necklace with a cocktail ring to match!

The Shoes

Don’t forget your shoes – they tie your whole outfit together. So instead of investing $500+ on a dress, why not on the shoes? At least you’ll wear it more than once.
